Seems I haven’t posted since August and there are many reasons why and it’s not that we weren’t working! Things began moving rapidly and moving fast and I felt no post was warranted until things were set in place and, as it’s been from the beginning, it was going to be in God’s time, not ours.
On December 21, 2011, the day the world would end; The Joseph House was born and will be. Our beautiful vision, that we’ve nurtured and coddled, was birthed into existence.
God closed doors and opened doors and I’m in awe of His plan and how He is unfolding it to us. The home that we strived so hard to achieve on Lotus Lane was met with strong resistance by the local zoning board in allowing us to pursue a “spot zone change”, so God showed us the door He wanted us to enter. We secured a wing at Oak Forrest Senior Home on Ford Chapel Road, a mile or so outside Lufkin’s city limit; a beautiful home specifically built as a senior home (not a nursing home) with each room being a small apartment in itself. This newly built home sets on six picturesque acres with a pond nestled in the piney woods which offers seclusion and privacy.
To all of you who generously donated to this idea and dream, we humbly thank you. The sheer number of you who donated was so impressive that foundations took notice as well as those blessed with wealth and generous hearts. We heard more than once, “the people must really want this!” Give yourself a pat on the back because you made a difference.
As we share our Christmas blessing with you, I ask our Heavenly Father to bless you and yours as we celebrate our Savior’s birth. I ask that you continue to pray for The Joseph House and take a minute out of your busy schedule and say a special prayer for all of those who are here for their last Christmas.
Merry Christmas,
Denise
P.S. Stay tuned….I’ll be blogging more often!
